Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised boutique wealth management firm Millen Capital on its sale to Evelyn Partners.
The five-strong Millen Capital team, including founding partner Angus Millen, will move into Evelyn Partners’ offices at Liverpool’s Pier Head, strengthening the larger firm’s presence in Liverpool and across the North West.
The agreement to combine the two businesses also forms part of Evelyn Partners’ succession planning scheme for business owners.
Leading on the provision of legal advice to Millen Capital and its partners were Hill Dickinson chair Jonathan Brown and legal director Phil Wallbank, assisted by apprentice solicitor Nick O’Shaughnessy.
Phil Wallbank said:
“The bringing together of two wealth management firms in the city that have shared values and ambitions to grow their combined client base makes perfect sense and we were pleased to provide guidance throughout the process.
“Liverpool has a strong and growing reputation for wealth management and we wish the team from Millen Capital every success in their new home.”
Millen Capital was set up in 1999 by Angus Millen to provide a comprehensive wealth management service to professionals and business owners.
Evelyn Partners, which was created from the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson in 2020, has roots in Liverpool with the former company having been founded in the city in 1836.
Moving across to Evelyn partners in addition to Angus Millen are chartered wealth manager Gareth Lyttle, certified financial planner and chartered wealth manager Vicki Harper and experienced administrators Linda O’Neill and Ruby Leigh.
