Linklaters has ranked sixth in the UK’s Social Mobility Employer Index 2023 for its continued action to promote social mobility and developing and advancing talent irrespective of backgrounds. This marks the seventh consecutive year that the firm has been recognised as a leading employer in the Social Mobility Foundation’s Social Mobility Employer Index and it is the firm’s highest rating to date.
The Social Mobility Foundation evaluates measures taken by employers across all industries in the UK to ensure they are developing talent from all social backgrounds. The Index serves as a benchmarking and assessment tool for organisations mapping their performance on different areas of social mobility.
The Index focuses on eight key areas, including how organisations work with young people, routes into the employer and how they attract, retain and progress talent.
Simon Branigan, Executive Committee Champion for Social Mobility at Linklaters, commented:
“We strive to be a leader in social mobility. We are dedicated to offering equal opportunities and ensuring that a person’s background never hinders their chances at Linklaters. We will continue to work hard to level the playing field, targeting social mobility cold spots, ensuring access to opportunity and resources, and making sure that we’re home to an inclusive culture, supported by our internal Social Mobility Network.”
Linklaters is committed to ensuring that personal background, social identity and socio-economic circumstances are not barriers to success, with social mobility being one of the global priorities within the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy.
