Skadden is representing Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) in its acquisition with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) of 100% of Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. (CCBPI) from The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) for US$1.8 billion.
Closing of the acquisition is subject to certain conditions, including a filing with the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC). Upon consummation of the transaction, CCEP and AEV will respectively control 60% and 40% of CCBPI.
CCBPI is the Coca-Cola bottler in the Philippines. AEV is one of the leading conglomerates in the Philippines with over 100 years of business history with investments in power, banking and financial services, food, infrastructure, land, and data science and artificial intelligence.
