Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised business advisory and accountancy firm Xeinadin Group on its acquisition of Bicester-based David Cadwallader & Co.
The move sees David Cadwallader & Co, which specialises in audit and owner-managed businesses, the not-for-profit sector and audit, join one of the UK and Ireland’s largest accountancy firms.
Xeinadin Group is a multi-disciplinary business advisory and accountancy group with over 135 offices and 1900 employees in the UK and Ireland. The addition of David Cadwallader & Co is the Group’s eighteenth expansion since it received backing from private equity investor Exponent in 2022 to support its ambitious growth plans.
Hill Dickinson provided Xeinadin with legal advice on the acquisition, led by partner Sean Lightfoot and senior associate Olivia Jones of the firm’s Manchester Corporate team.
Derry Crowley, CEO, Xeinadin Group, said: “Bringing David Cadwallader & Co into the fold is another great achievement in pushing forward with our ambitious growth plans. As a trusted partner offering a range of specialist services, David Cadwallader & Co is a perfect fit that echoes the values and ethos of Xeinadin Group.”
Speaking for Hill Dickinson, Sean Lightfoot said: “We have worked alongside Xeinadin since early 2022 when Exponent first came on board as a significant minority backer. Growth of the Group since then has been substantial and we’re delighted to have been able to advise Xeinadin’s management team on key developments along the way.”
The deal follows another recent Xeinadin acquisition, in November 2023, of Buckinghamshire-based accountancy practice Everitt Kerr, on which Hill Dickinson also advised.
