SSEK Law Firm partner Stephen Igor Warokka moderated two sessions at a recent Indonesian Ministry of Manpower Regional Workshop on Policy Information Exchange on the Mechanisms and Regulations for Foreign Worker Arrangements among Asia-Pacific and Asean Member States.
Stephen moderated a discussion with the Director of Foreign Worker Utilization Control at Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower, Haryanto, S.H., M.H., on the utilization of foreign workers in Indonesia, and Tessar Bayu Setyaji, A.Md.Im., S.H., M.M., the Deputy Director for Stay Permit Status Change, on Indonesia’s Golden Visa program.
In the second session, Stephen moderated a discussion with Roystan Ang, Second Secretary (Political) at the Embassy of Singapore, and His Excellency Ta Van Thong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Indonesia, on Initiatives and Challenges for Southeast Asia in Foreign Worker Utilization.
Indonesia’s Manpower Minister, H. E. Dr. Ida Fauziyah, opened the workshop, and the Secretary General of Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower, Prof. Anwar Sanusi, PhD, delivered the keynote speech. The event was attended by more than 100 people from companies around the Asean region, foreign chambers of commerce, embassies, domestic companies, and government institutions.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear from other speakers, including Indonesia’s Acting Director General of Manpower Placement Development and Job Opportunities Expansion, Estiarty Haryani; and Thomas Matthew, the group CEO of Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), a national agency under the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources.
The event was closed by Afriansyah Noor, Indonesia’s Deputy Manpower Minister.
