DivinaLaw Associate Atty. Renz Ayongao served as a resource speaker for #Amplify: Raising the Youth Voice on Human Rights, organized by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth Philippines (UN SDSN Youth PH), in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights and the European Union. Over 50 community and student leaders in the youth sector participated in the event.
Atty. Ayongao delivered an insightful talk on various strategies to champion human rights advocacy among the youth, emphasizing the crucial role of young people in driving social change and ensuring the protection of fundamental freedoms. He also highlighted that the involvement of youth is particularly important, as young people bring fresh perspectives, energy, and innovation to the human rights movement. By raising awareness and empowering youth leaders, communities can foster a culture of respect, dignity, and equality.
UN SDSN Youth PH, a non-government organization launched in 2015, is dedicated to empowering and mobilizing the youth to be active stakeholders in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The event successfully provided a platform for young leaders to learn, engage, and commit to promoting human rights within their communities. This initiative does not only strengthen the voices of young advocates but also ensure that the next generation is equipped to tackle the pressing human rights issues of today.
