Understanding Vietnamese laws and regulations concerning food can be a challenge. The confusion results from the lack of a unified food law.
While the government relies on general laws to regulate the quality of goods, including food, there are also specific regulations that apply to food products.
This means that there are two sets of rules–one covering goods in general and the other covering food products–and they often overlap.
