The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Regional Electrical Power Networks JSC intend to launch a Public-Private Partnership project to concession an Electricity Distribution System in the Samarkand region.
A private partner is planned to take over the design, financing, construction, operation, maintenance, and transfer of low-voltage distribution network infrastructure in the Samarkand region.
The International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, has been assigned the Lead Transaction Advisor. The winner will be selected through a competitive tender process and will subsequently sign a long-term PPP agreement. In the initial phase, private companies are asked to submit applications for prequalification. In the subsequent phase, those prequalified companies will present their technical and financial proposals for the project. Prequalification applications will be accepted until January 17, 2025.
