LegalTech Soapbox: Enrich Your Daily Operations With DocPro.

November 27, 2024

November 27, 2024 by

Featured in our LegalTech Soapbox Series this month is DocPro. DocPro operates a LegalTech platform (DocPro.com), by combining legal documentation services with cutting edge technology. DocPro was the winner of the GoGlobal Award in  2021 for LegalTech by the International Trade Council and they were also selected by Legal Elite as the Best Legal Documents Platform in 2022. DocPro has just launched the next generation Generative AI legal platform (DocLegal.AI).

1. Hi Kim,  tell us the story behind DocPro

DocPro was founded with the vision of democratising access to high-quality legal documents and services. As a qualified lawyer with over 20 years of experience, I saw firsthand how many individuals and small businesses were deterred from seeking legal help due to high costs and complexity. This gap in the market inspired the creation of DocPro in 2020, offering a user-friendly platform where users can generate reliable legal documents without hefty legal fees. Over time, as AI technology advanced, we expanded our capabilities to develop DocLegal.ai, an AI-powered legal assistant that delivers personalised, cost-effective legal solutions to further streamline the legal process.

2. What are the services or products that Legalboards provides?

DocPro offers a comprehensive suite of legal documentation services, including:

  • DocPro.com: A platform with over 2,700 legal document templates for personal, business, and legal use. Users can customise documents through a guided process, ensuring they meet specific legal needs.
  • DocLegal.ai: A new AI-powered legal assistant designed to create, review, edit, and summarise legal documents. It can suggest clauses, highlight risks, and offers personalised solutions tailored to the user’s specific legal scenario, making it both affordable and efficient.

These products aim to simplify the legal process for both individuals and businesses by providing high-quality legal documents at a fraction of the cost of traditional law firms.

3. How does the above optimise the daily operations of an in-house legal team/ law firm?

Both DocPro.com and DocLegal.ai offer solutions that significantly improve the efficiency and productivity of in-house legal teams and law firms. Here’s how:

  • Time-saving document creation: Legal teams can generate custom legal documents in minutes, reducing the time spent drafting routine contracts, agreements, and letters.
  • Streamlined workflows: With the AI-powered capabilities of DocLegal.ai, legal professionals can automate document review, summarisation, and clause recommendations, minimising manual tasks and freeing up time for more strategic legal work.
  • Cost reduction: By automating document generation and routine tasks, law firms can reduce reliance on junior staff or external services, lowering operational costs without compromising on quality.
  • Improved accuracy: DocLegal.ai’s intelligent review and risk-assessment features ensure that legal documents are thorough and aligned with current standards, helping avoid errors and legal risks.
  • Collaboration: Both platforms provide easy-to-use interfaces for lawyers and clients to collaborate on document preparation, improving communication and project flow.

4. What do you believe will be the most significant change in how in-house legal teams use technology in the next 10 years?

In the next 10 years, I believe AI will become deeply integrated into the daily operations of legal teams, fundamentally changing how legal services are delivered. AI will not just handle routine document generation but will evolve into an indispensable tool for legal analysis, strategy, and even predictive insights.

Here are a few key shifts I foresee:

  • Increased automation: Routine tasks like document drafting, contract review, due diligence, and compliance checks will be entirely automated, allowing legal teams to focus on high-value, complex matters.
  • AI-augmented decision-making: AI will assist in legal research and case analysis, providing lawyers with insights and predictions based on vast datasets, which will enhance decision-making and risk assessments.
  • Global accessibility: AI platforms like DocLegal.ai will make legal services more affordable and accessible, enabling even small businesses and individuals to have access to top-quality legal resources without the need for expensive law firms.
  • Collaboration tools: Cloud-based AI platforms will allow for seamless collaboration between in-house legal teams, external counsel, and clients, creating a more efficient and integrated approach to legal service delivery.

In short, legal technology will enable faster, more accurate, and more cost-effective legal services, transforming how legal professionals work and how legal services are consumed. Lawyers will still play a vital role with AI in a hybrid model.

KorumLegal is a boutique legal consultancy committed to providing value innovation in legal service delivery. The legal services industry is continuing to change with ‘NewLaw’ – and clients are seeking more innovative and cost-effective solutions without compromise on experience and quality
