On a vibrant evening on November 21, 2024 in Seattle, despite the biggest blackout in the region since 2006, over 160 guests from all ages and vocations gathered to celebrate the intersection of food, culture, and community at an event filled with inspiring talks, performances, and culinary delights. As the cornerstone sponsor, JunHe was proud to support this celebration of the Asian American community’s rich history and vibrant contributions.
The event kicked off with a heartfelt panel of chefs and restaurateurs sharing stories of resilience and hope, especially during the pandemic, featuring culinary stars like Melissa Miranda, Karuna Long, and Rachel Yang. Guests savored delectable bites, including Lumpiang Shanghai, Mushroom Adobo Toast, and Cambodian “Angel” Wings. The sensory experience continued with Pan Yixuan’s mesmerizing dumpling-making performance and poet Jane Wong’s moving reflections on food, culture, and memory.
A second panel of food writers and content creators, including Kat Lieu and Hsiao-Ching Chou, delved into the convergence of culinary tradition, innovation, and activism. Guests explored a vibrant marketplace, supporting local vendors like Mixed Pantry, Macadons, and Intentionalist, all contributing to a shared celebration of Asian American heritage.
JunHe is honored to engage deeply with this dynamic community partnering with the Serica Initiative, the Asian American Foundation and etc. A heartfelt thank you to all the participants, panelists, and partners who made the evening unforgettable.
