The Toy Safety Regulation (TSR) introduces stricter safety requirements for toys sold in the EU, ramping up obligations along the entire supply chain for toys.
Ahead of the upcoming implementation, the TSR introduces:
- Stricter safety rules for all toys sold in the EU, applying across the full supply chain. This includes manufacturers, importers, distributors, online marketplaces, and toy sellers.
- Expanded responsibilities and faster updates to safety requirements, allowing the European Commission to adapt rules swiftly as scientific knowledge evolves.
- Coverage of both new and imported toys, with links to a broad range of other EU legislation to ensure consistency across regulatory frameworks.
- Significantly tougher penalties, with particular emphasis on enforcement for online platforms.
