JunHe warmly welcomes private equity and technology investment expert Ms. ZHAO, Rongjing to our Shanghai and Hong Kong offices. Ms. Zhao specializes in complex transactions involving listed company mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, leveraged buyouts, mezzanine financing, and distressed asset acquisitions. She has long provided legal support to domestic and overseas listed companies, private equity funds, institutional investors, and multinational corporations.
Ms. Zhao holds a Bachelor of Laws from Fudan University and a Master of Laws from New York University. Prior to joining JunHe, she served as a partner in the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices of two premier international law firms for several years. With 18 years of hands-on experience at the forefront of transactions, she has amassed extensive practical expertise and developed a globally oriented legal mindset. Over the years, she has represented private equity funds in their investments in Asia, assisted clients in their cross-border M&A transactions within and outside China, and built years of expertise in areas such as listed company controlling stake transactions. Ms. Zhao also brings valuable industry experience in the technology and life science sectors.
Ms. Zhao has led numerous landmark transactions that have had significant influence. In the area of listed company control acquisitions, she represented Asia Innovation Group in a USD 2.5 billion business combination, a deal recognized in 2022 by China Business Law Journal as a Deal of the Year. In private equity, she has orchestrated several key transactions for international private equity funds, including The Carlyle Group’s leveraged buyout of a packaging container manufacturer, which was also named a 2022 Deal of the Year by China Business Law Journal. She led Ascendent Capital Partners’ USD 1.66 billion take-private acquisition of HollySys Automation, a transaction honored by the Asian Business Law Review as the 2024 Deal of the Year. Her long-standing clients include top-tier global private equity firms as well as high-growth, high-value technology and life sciences enterprises. Her name is synonymous with precision-driven solutions and efficient execution in complex transactions.
Ms. Zhao’s business acumen and professional capabilities have earned her extensive recognition from clients and the market.
