SSEK Law Firm partner Mahareksha S. Dillon (Reksha) participated as a panelist at FIRE International 2026, held in Vilamoura, Portugal. FIRE International is a global conference focusing on fraud, insolvency, recovery, and enforcement.
Reksha spoke on a panel titled “Corruption in the World of Asset Recovery,” which examined the complex intersection between corruption, fraud, and cross-border recovery efforts.
The discussion addressed key issues arising in asset recovery matters involving corruption, including the recognition and enforcement of judgments obtained through corrupt practices, challenges in establishing contracts void for illegality, and practical considerations relating to costs, funding, and the imbalance between claimants and well-resourced fraudsters.
