
SSEK Law Firm managing partner Dewi Savitri Reni (Vitri), foreign counsel Michael S. Carl, and associates Kevin Raihan and Agung K. Sihombing recently participated in a mentoring program with the Technology, Information, Communication, and Intellectual Property Law Student Association (HIMA TIK-KI) Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, themed “The Digital Silk Road: Privacy in Transit.”
Vitri, delivered the opening remarks for the seminar. Michael, Kevin, and Agung presented on the cross-border transfer of personal data in the digital era, Indonesia’s personal data protection framework, key aspects of personal data law, principles governing the processing of personal data, and relevant case studies.
The SSEK team also led an interactive session on the corporate legal profession, sharing practical insights into the role of corporate lawyers and the realities of practice at a corporate law firm.
The seminar was held at SSEK’s offices and was attended by more than 50 Padjadjaran University law students. In addition to the presentations and interactive discussions, the students toured the firm’s offices and had the opportunity to ask questions about working at a corporate law firm.
