On 6 August 2026, MASE made available Ministerial Decree No. 194 of 18 June 2026, commonly referred to as the FER X Decree. The measure became applicable on 7 August 2026 and now forms the main regulatory basis for the new incentive regime.
The Decree moves beyond the interim arrangements adopted at the end of 2024 and sets out a lasting remuneration framework for renewable electricity projects that no longer require support levels typical of less mature technologies.
GSE has already published the new “Regole operative”. It will be possible to submit preliminary qualification applications from 25 August 2026 (for the first auction, the deadline for the submission of the preliminary qualification application will be 30 September 2026).
