Baker & McKenzie has again solidified its position as a dominant law firm in Asia Pacific. The Firm was voted by in-house counsel as the most responsive law firm in more jurisdictions than any other law firm for the seventh consecutive year, according to Asian-MENA Counsel's Representative Corporate Asia & Middle East Survey 2015.
Baker & McKenzie has been voted by corporate counsel and business leaders as the "Most Responsive International Firm of the Year" in China, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and the "Most Responsive Domestic Firm of the Year" in Indonesia. The Firm was also named "In-House Community Firm of the Year" across 34 different practices in nine jurisdictions – China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The recognition closely follows the Firm being named as the strongest law firm brand in the Asia Pacific region for the second year running in the Acritas' Asia Pacific Law Firm Brand Index.
Bruce Hambrett, Baker & McKenzie's Asia Pacific Regional Chairman said, "The economic and regulatory environment is changing rapidly. This rapidity of change has put enormous pressure on businesses. Our aim is to stay ahead of the curve, anticipate how these changing market conditions impact our clients' businesses and provide advice that is both timely and commercially pragmatic. It is extremely gratifying to see that our efforts are well recognized by our clients and the general business community. We thank our clients, and Asian-MENA Counsel, for this recognition."
The survey, conducted by publisher Pacific Business Press, contacted more than 21,000 in-house lawyers and senior company directors across Asia Pacific and the Middle East to determine which law firms are the most preferred in the minds of in-house counsel. Respondents were asked, among other things, for their comments on the quality and value of service received from external counsel in their jurisdiction, with votes aggregated to select the winning firms in each category.
