Mayer Brown JSM is further expanding its Corporate & Securities practice with the arrival of Rod Brown in the firm’s Singapore office in April 2016. Mr. Brown will join from Latham & Watkins in Singapore, where he was a Corporate partner.
"We're very excited to have Rod join us as part of our growing Corporate & Securities team and the Mayer Brown family. His experience in cross-border M&A and private equity transactions will not only greatly enhance our capabilities in Singapore, it will also add tremendous value to our service offerings for our clients across Southeast Asia," says Kevin Owen, managing partner of Mayer Brown JSM's Singapore office. "Rod's hire is a testament to our long-term commitment to Singapore and the Southeast Asian region generally."
Mr. Brown is experienced in public and private M&A, private equity transactions, restructurings, strategic investments, joint ventures and general corporate matters. He has acted for a number of multinationals in India, Indonesia and elsewhere in the region across a wide range of sectors, including energy and natural resources, technology, media and telecommunications, and hospitality, gaming and leisure.
"Rod is an experienced lawyer with an impressive track record advising on a wide range of transactions. His addition to the team complements our growing Corporate & Securities practice, which will benefit our client service both for Asia-based clients as well as our global institutional clients operating in Southeast Asia," says Jason T. Elder, a firmwide practice leader of Mayer Brown’s Corporate & Securities group.
"I am very much looking forward to working with the team in Singapore. With cross-border transactions increasing, Mayer Brown’s footprint in Asia, its global network and its collaborative culture make this an exciting opportunity for me," says Rod Brown.
