Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has expanded its private wealth team with the addition of Erik Wallace as a partner, based in its Hong Kong office.
“Erik’s arrival is strategically important for the development of our international private wealth practice,” said Stephenson Harwood partner James Quarmby, who leads the firm’s private wealth team. “His experience and knowledge in US tax and estate planning will not only enhance our ability to assist our clients in Asia, but also to support clients globally.”
Wallace’s practice is focused on advising high net worth families on all aspects of US taxation and estate planning. He has extensive experience assisting clients with US connections in structuring and restructuring trusts, establishing private trust companies and international charitable foundations, as well as advising on corporate reorganisations, the sale of large family businesses and pre-IPO planning. He joins Stephenson Harwood from Withers where he was a partner from 2006.
“With his reputation and expertise in US taxation and estate planning matters, his arrival will significantly enhance the ambit of service we can provide to our Asian clients with US nexus,” said Stephenson Harwood partner Ian Devereux, head of firm’s private wealth team in Greater China. “Having a partner of Erik’s calibre join the firm fits perfectly with the level of expertise our clients expect.”
