Wong & Partners advised CHAMP Private Equity, on its acquisition of a 50% interest in the Counterchain Group through its CHAMP IV Fund. Containerchain provides business-to-business, web-based software technology to the shipping industry and it has a strong presence in Australia and Singapore. Wong & Partners advised CHAMP in relation to the multi-jurisdiction due diligence exercise as well as on the transaction structuring and regulatory framework. This was led by Wong & Partners, with support from Baker & McKenzie's member firms in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand. In this transaction, CHAMP invested alongside the founder of the Containerchain Group, Tony Paldano. The transaction marked CHAMP IV’s second deal.
The deal was completed on 2 September 2016.
