AWA Asia, the Asian arm of leading European intellectual property firm Awapatent is pleased and proud to announce the promotions of Rhonda Tin to Senior Counsel in Hong Kong and Ashley Zhao to Partner in Beijing.
Rhonda Tin and Ashley Zhao were both part of the founding team when AWA Asia launched in February 2015. Their excellent work and contributions in managing our Asian operations have ensured the success of our brand management practice to-date.
Rhonda Tin was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2004, specializing in IP matters since then. She is particularly skilled in the strategic management of trademark portfolios (contentious and non-contentious),
copyright, designs, domain names and advertising related issues. Her client work covers Hong Kong and China. She continues to be our senior trademark practitioner on the ground in Hong Kong and heads our operations for the Hong Kong office.
Ashley Zhao has been in the trademark field since 2005, and was admitted to the PRC Bar in 2008. She is regularly involved in both contentious and non-contentious brand management and related advisory matters (including domain name, internet law, advertising law and anti-unfair competitions matters) in the PRC. She will be managing our trademark prosecution practice in Beijing and heads our operations in the Beijing office.
CEO and Principal Counsel Ai-Leen Lim comments:
"I would like to congratulate Rhonda and Ashley on their promotions. They are both truly committed, highly skilled and well-regarded colleagues at AWA Asia. I am really proud of their achievements and have no doubt that their addition to the AWA Asia management team bolsters our increasing presence as an IP player in the region and internationally."
The promotions became effective this quarter.
