After conducting a public consultation exercise last year, the tripartite workgroup on self-employed persons (“SEPs”) released its report on the recommendations to address the challenges faced by SEPs on 22 February 2018.
The tripartite workgroup’s recommendations include, amongst others, the development of a Tripartite Standard for engaging SEP’s services, the provision of a SEP insurance product, the adoption of a contribute-as-you-earn Medisave model and the establishment of occupation specific competency frameworks.
