Global law firm Clyde & Co has appointed a new Partner in Sydney. Jacinta Studdert joins the firm with more than 25 years of experience in environment, development and planning law, including 18 years as a partner.
Jacinta's practice focuses on environment and planning requirements, compliance, risk management and regulatory issues associated with property, project and infrastructure development. This includes residential, commercial and industrial developments, as well as the construction and operation of infrastructure, for transport, energy, resources, and waste and water facilities. Her expertise will complement the existing Real Estate, Projects & Construction, Occupational, Health & Safety and Regulatory practices at Clyde & Co.
She regularly advises domestic and in-bound investors on the purchase of property in regards to: the current and permissible use or development of the property; approvals and licences required for using and developing land; existing and potential planning and environmental restrictions and liabilities; and, the compliance issues and risks associated with contamination.
In addition, Jacinta regularly advises on the requirements for environmental impact assessments, approvals and environmental licences for new projects and existing operations. Jacinta also assists clients in responding to pollution and other environmental incidents, clean-up notices and EPA/regulator investigations and actions. The use and development of contaminated land and the associated risks and liabilities remains a significant part of her practice.

Jacinta is the third partner to join Clyde & Co in Australia in 2018. Since launching in Australia in 2012 with 4 partners in 2 offices, the firm has grown to 26 partners and more than 200 staff across 4 offices.
