We are delighted to announce that Deacons has strengthened its Litigation and Dispute Resolution offering with the addition of a Family Law practice.
The Family Law practice is led by Partner, Paul Kwan, with the support of Cecilia Lau, who recently joined the firm as a Consultant. Cecilia specialises in family law and brings an extensive wealth of experience in a wide range of complex and high conflict matrimonial and family-related matters. Jean Lau, Associate, is also a key member of the team.
The practice handles a full range of both contentious and non-contentious advisory issues, including pre and post nuptial agreements, divorce and separation, financial ancillary relief (including injunctive relief to preserve assets, asset search and discovery and cases involving family group companies) and matters relating to children, such as custody and access disputes, relocation, child abduction, child abuse, guardianship and wardship.
In their first Family Law article, Paul Kwan, Cecilia Lau and Jean Lau explain the importance of nuptial agreements in order to ensure a fair outcome in the event of a relationship breaking down. Please click here to read the article.
