Mint conducted a Q&A with Aradhana discussingthe issue of gift deeds and release deeds in the case of a deceased owner of a shared property.
Aradhana opines that the release deed that will attract stamp duty for transferring or releasing the deceased interest, depending on the state in which the immovable property is situated, and one gets 4months’ time to register the deed, gift or release, from the date of the execution of the deed.
