Following our client alert in June 2019 regarding extension of the period for foreigners operating a business under US-Thai Treaty of Amity to bring in minimum capital into Thailand ("Relaxation Period"), the ministerial regulations regarding the same were issued by the Ministry of Commerce (“MOC”) on 28 August 2019 extending the Relaxation Period to 29 August 2029.
As a result, foreigners operating a business under US-Thai Treaty of Amity are not required to bring in minimum capital until 29 August 2029. The requirements beyond 29 August 2029 have to be monitored closer to that time.
