Albert Yuen
We are delighted to welcome Albert, who has joined us to take up the positon of Head of Technology, Media & Communications for OC Hong Kong, supporting clients across Asia. His extensive sector expertise will further strengthen OC's team specialising in these areas.
With more than 18 years’ experience at top-tier law firms in Australia and the US, and from strategic secondments with key Asian businesses, Albert is a senior commercial transactions and advisory lawyer specialising in information technology, digital transformation and telecommunications law, as well as FinTech, IP commercialisation, IoT, AI and data privacy/protection.
Having led on many substantial global transactions, Albert brings significant experience of working with multinationals in multiple jurisdictions, including Australia, South East Asia and North America. In Asia, Albert has worked for clients such as Telstra, MetLife, Origin Energy, Virgin Australia Airlines, Ooredoo Myanmar, Axiata Group, XL Axiata, Maxis, Atos, Thai Life Insurance, Iluka and Beach Energy.
Jasmine Yung
Jasmine joins the team as a trainee, bringing with her valuable expertise in data privacy to add to our strengths here.
Prior to joining OC, Jasmine served for six years at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) here in Hong Kong, where she gained diverse experience of privacy law – from regulatory enforcement to legal policy, as well as undertaking comparative research and international liaison. Some of the key areas she covered were legal research and analyses on latest developments and legislation in local and overseas privacy-related issues, e.g. Big Data analytics, Artificial Intelligence, digital ethics, accountability, FinTech, blockchain, mobile payments, de-identification, developments in China’s data protection regime and Cybersecurity Law, and the "Belt and Road" Initiative.
Jing Zhao
Jing is a law graduate from Cambridge University with an MA, Law from Hebei University, China and joins us as an experienced paralegal, having worked previously with a leading US firm in Hong Kong and one of Singapore's top law firms.
