We are extremely happy to announce the appointment of Mr. Deni Shah to spearhead our Global Trade and Indirect Tax practice.
Deni is a tax professional with more than 15 years of of experience in rendering consulting, compliance and litigation related services across a spectrum of indirect tax laws such as Customs and Global Trade, Foreign Trade Policy, GST, service tax, VAT, etc.
Deni specializes in Customs and Global Trade and provides support inter alia in the following areas:
- Free Trade Agreements and origin management controls
- Foreign Trade Policy – SEZ, EOU, FTWZ, etc, including export incentive schemes
- HSN classification and related disclosures/ compliances/ documentation
- Duty saving, optimization, deferral strategies
- Authorized Economic Importer program and similar initiatives by the customs department
- Investigations/ audits and the entire life cycle of litigation proceedings
- Operational issues in the international supply chain including automation and use of technology
Deni also provides support on GST advisory, compliance and technology, health checks, due diligences, transactions, advance rulings, representations and advocacy related initiatives
In the indirect tax space, Deni has experience of working with varied industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, leasing, pharmaceuticals, financial services, e-commerce, media and entertainment, logistics (courier/ airlines), hospitality, etc.
Previous work experience:
Deni has previously worked with global accounting firms viz. Anderson, E&Y, KPMG and Deloitte. He has also worked with BMR Advisors.
