Skadden advised SM Entertainment Japan Co., Ltd., the Japanese subsidiary of SM Entertainment Co., Ltd., one of Asia's leading entertainment groups, in the merger of its newly formed subsidiary, SMEJ Inc., with Stream Media Corporation. Stream Media Corporation is a Tokyo Stock Exchange (JASDAQ Growth) listed company which delivers entertainment content from across Asia.
The transaction was announced on 29 May. It is expected to become effective on 1 August 2020, pending the approval of the shareholders of SMEJ Inc. and Stream Media Corporation.
