JunHe sincerely welcomes Dr. David Gu to our Beijing office where he specializes in dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and energy and infrastructure practices. Dr. Gu received a Bachelor of Laws from Nanjing University before earning his Master of Laws and Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis, USA. He has also received a Master of Laws from Duke University. Dr. Gu has been a licensed lawyer for over 12 years, and was a partner at a leading Chinese law firm before joining JunHe this year.
Dr. Gu specializes in commercial arbitration and foreign related and cross border disputes. He has represented many large Chinese enterprises and multinational companies to participate in Chinese and international arbitration proceedings, including those conducted under the Rules of ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC, SCC, SCIA, CIETAC and BAC. Dr. Gu has handled international trade disputes, IP license agreements and confidentiality agreement disputes, corporate disputes (JV, SPA and M&A), large scale public infrastructure and construction disputes, as well as innovative and derivative financial products disputes with disputed values in the billions of US Dollars. Dr. Gu has also participated in international arbitration hearings as the first chair to conduct cross-examination and has won numerous cases.
Dr. Gu has handled many arbitration related litigation cases including the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and foreign court judgments, as well as applications for interim measures in aid of Hong Kong seated arbitration proceedings. He has collaborated with counsel in different jurisdictions (such as in England and Wales, USA, Italy, Germany, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, BVI, Cayman Islands and Mongolia) in many cross border commercial disputes and has advised numerous Chinese and foreign government agencies and companies in complex compliance issues. Dr. Gu has also assisted in government enforcement proceedings.
