Martelli McKegg is a New Zealand law practice based at Auckland, the country’s business and financial centre. The partners in the firm have wide experience and expertise in most areas with the accent on commercial and corporate law.
The firm has grown from two practices, the first started by O.L. Martelli in 1921 and the other by N.P. McKegg in 1958. Outstanding lawyers from the practice have included the current President of the Court of Appeal and Queen’s Counsel.
The practice has modern purpose designed premises at the PwC Tower on the waterfront in downtown Auckland and utilizes modern and innovative technology.
The firm specializes in prompt personal service and the partners, solicitors and staff maintain an active and genuine interest in the activities and well-being of the firm’s clients. The firm takes pride in its reputation for efficiency and promptness. All work is carried on under a partner’s supervision and the commitment is such that the partners and staff strive to be available when required and outside normal working hours.

Commercial, Corporate and Taxation
The firm aims to understand the profile and style of its commercial clients and advice and recommendations are based on both a legal evaluation and the commercial issues. Services include:

Litigation and Tribunals
The firm has experienced advocates, including four partners, in all courts and tribunals throughout New Zealand and specializes in commercial litigation. As well as commercial litigation and dispute resolution, the firm deals in employment disputes, insolvency and restructuring, construction defects, leaky building claims, trust and estate litigation, town planning and local government law, trade practices and unfair trading, administrative and licensing law, matrimonial property and family protection law.
