Mr. Marquez has handled arbitration of unresolved workplace grievances in organized establishments, including labor disputes causing strike in industries indispensable to national interest. He has rendered regular advice and opinion on labor standards and various labor and employment matters, such as administrative investigations, termination disputes, unfair labor practice, certification election, and money claims. Mr. Marquez appellate practice has involved him in preparation of petitions, appeal brief, and memorandum before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, including administrative agencies such as the Department of Justice, the Office of the Secretary of Labor and Employment, and the Office of the President.

 

His practice areas include: Administrative Law, Appellate Practice, Business Process Outsourcing, Contracts, Criminal Law, Employee Benefits, Immigration, Intellectual Property,  Labor and Employment, Litigation, Personal Injury, Torts, White Collar Crime, Workers' Compensation.

 

Mr. Marquez obtained his Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 1985 and, completed his Bachelor of Laws degree at the San Beda College in 1989. He ranked 10th place in the 1989 Philippine Bar Examinations. He started his law career in 1990 at the head office of ACCRALAW in Makati City where he was member of the Labor and the Litigation Departments. Prior to joining ACCRALAW, Mr. Marquez was an Executive Assistant to Hon. Associate Justice Florenz D. Regalado of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

 

Mr. Marquez is a tenured Professor of Law at the University of San Carlos School of Law and Governance in Cebu City. He presently teaches Labor Law Review, Labor Relations and Labor Standards subjects in the same University from sophomore to senior year. He had handled subjects on Torts & Damages, Partnership, Social & Agrarian Legislation, and Conflict of Laws. Mr. Marquez was a former BAR Reviewer in Labor Laws at the Magnificus Review Center, the Jurist and the Excellent Bar Review Centers. He was also a Guest Lecturer at the Graduate School, Department of Psychology, University of San Carlos.

 

Mr. Marquez is a member of the People’s Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP)–Cebu City Chapter. He is also a member of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP).

 

In 2015, the Asia Pacific Legal 500 Editorial recommended Mr. Marquez for the Practice Areas of Dispute Resolution and recommended him as a Lawyer in Cebu.
