The Withers tech team has advised DNA-based biodiversity monitoring company NatureMetrics on its $15 million funding round led by urban sustainability-driven VC fund 2150, alongside Ananda Impact Ventures, SWEN Capital Partners’ Blue Ocean and BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund and follow-on from Systemiq Capital.
NatureMetrics is a UK company which provides biodiversity monitoring data using cutting-edge DNA (eDNA) surveys and metabarcoding to more than 80 countries. Their data is subsequently used to further our understanding of how to protect and build natural capital.
Cambridge partner Susanna Stanfield, comments: “NatureMetrics places data at the forefront on their mission to solve biodiversity loss. Their unique approach is essential in alleviating the global climate crisis. The funds will enable them to continue building digital products prioritising long-term targets on nature whilst advancing its expansion into international markets.”
