Enterprises can now tap on the Mentorship for Intangible Asset Transformation (MINT) programme which provides local enterprises with one-on-one mentorship to use their intangible assets (IA), including intellectual property (IP), to grow their business.
2. MINT is a collaboration between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), and is supported by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF). Under the pilot programme, companies will receive complimentary one- on-one mentorship with WIPO-curated local and international experts as well as:
i. training and access to practical tools and resources
ii. peer learning and networking opportunities
iii. exclusive access to international events
3. Said Mr. Marco Alemán, WIPO’s Assistant Director General of the IP and Innovation
Ecosystems Sector, “With the rise of the intangible economy, strategic IP management is critical for the success of businesses and particularly intangible-intensive firms. The MINT programme, jointly organised by WIPO and the IPOS, is part of WIPO’s general IP Management Clinics Programme. Together with leading IP and Business management experts, WIPO and IPOS will work closely with participating Singaporean companies to scale and grow their businesses via strategic use of the IP system. We are very excited to launch the inaugural edition of MINT, working together with IPOS, supporting partners and our team of experts.”
4. IPOS Chief Executive, Mrs. Rena Lee said, “Providing access to mentors in IP is yet another
initiative by IPOS and WIPO to make IP more accessible and relevant to enterprises. We hope that enterprises will take advantage of this complimentary programme to tap on the experience and expertise of our partners, who can help enterprises understand the importance of their IA and make the most of them. I would also like to thank our partners for their services in making this happen.”
5. Enterprises can submit their application to be considered for this programme at WIPO’s
website by 13 March 2023. The MINT programme will commence in early April 2023.
