DivinaLaw Senior Partner Atty. Jay Layug was invited as a speaker at the 2023 Philippine Electric Power Industry Forum held in Manila last March 20-21.
The head of DivinaLaw’s Energy Team, Atty. Layug, talked about fast tracking renewable energy development in the Philippines, especially with the 50% installation target for renewable energy in the generation mix by 2040. Atty. Layug also lauded the Department of Energy for its aggressive policies and steps in ensuring electricity supply availability. This after DOE announced the green energy auction seeking 11 gigawatts of new renewable energy capacities for commercial operations in 2024-2026.
The event, organized by the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines, is the largest gathering of electric power industry stakeholders in the country.
