Law firm Hill Dickinson has advised the shareholders of Gorilla Accounting on sale of the Bolton-based digital accountancy firm to Azets, a UK top 10 accountancy group.
The acquisition will bolster Azets’ digital offering to clients and build upon the demand for tech-enabled accounting services.
Ranked as the No 1 accountancy firm on Trust Pilot, Gorilla Accounting was set up by Dan Fallows and Tim Murphy in 2015 to provide services primarily to entrepreneurs, sole traders and small limited companies. The company has since grown to employ 45 people.
Hill Dickinson corporate partners Sean Lightfoot and Jon Gillow, assisted by trainee solicitor Dan McDonagh, led on provision of legal services to the selling shareholders of Gorilla Accounting.
Sean Lightfoot said:
“The demand for digital services across all aspects of business presents exciting opportunities for young and innovative companies like Gorilla Accounting. Having established itself in the market early and built a solid reputation with entrepreneurs and SMEs, this acquisition presents a huge opportunity to accelerate the company’s growth.
“We were pleased to advise on the legal aspects of the deal and wish both parties every success.”
Dan Fallows, managing director of Gorilla Accounting added:
“This acquisition begins a new chapter in Gorilla’s growth story and provides our clients and people with exciting new opportunities as part of a growing international accountancy group.”
Gorilla Accounting will retain its brand as part of Azets Group.
