The European Commission has proposed opening up access to financial data in the EU. The draft regulation requires a wide range of financial institutions to join financial data sharing schemes. In-scope firms include EU banks, insurers, investment firms, asset managers and fintech firms. The regulation also creates a new licensing regime for financial information service providers.
The regulation was published alongside draft legislation on the digital euro and payments regulation reform.
