CHEOK Advocates & Solicitors is a full service law firm established in September 2009 by the founding partner Robin Cheok. Our firm has four lawyers; Robin CHEOK Van Kee, Christina LIM Li Hui, LEE Wai Yee and CHAN Ching Yee, 2 paralegals and 19 other support staff.

Robin CHEOK Van Kee has over 20 years of experience in the area of banking, construction, corporate law, joint ventures, real estate and litigations. With his years of practice, he has extensive experience in acting for and advising banks including Islamic Banks. He completed a Masters in Islamic Banking, Finance and Management from the Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management, University of Brunei Darussalam in 2010. He has been a panel speaker and moderator for IFN conference in Brunei and Singapore and speaker of the 6th IFSB Seminar 2014 held in Brunei. His portfolio of non-contentious work involves drafting and vetting building, consultancy and other construction related documents. Chambers and Partners have quoted Robin as “a very major figure in the Brunei legal market.” He is picked out by sources for his involvement in litigation and debt recovery matters and also garners praise for he breadth of his knowledge: “He’s a great guy,” remarks an interviewee, “he has a strong all-round practice in 2017.
Christina LIM Li Hui was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn), UK in 2002 and admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam in 2003. She joined CAS as a partner in 2009. She has extensive experience in complementing banking clients with debt recovery work and handles sale and purchase on behalf of individuals and corporations for both residential and commercial properties. She is also actively involved in the financing of such transactions and conventional in her years of practice in Brunei. Christina speaks and writes fluent Mandarin, English and Malay.
LEE Wai Yee graduated from the University of London and has been actively practicing law in Malaysia since 2000. She has over 16 years of experience in conveyancing, banking (both conventional and Islamic Banking) and finance. She continued to be active in the same areas of practice when she joined our firm in August 2010 and has worked closely with the banks and developers over the years to date in handling majority of the conveyancing and banking portfolio in our firm. Wai Yee is fluent in English and Malay and speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.
CHAN Ching Yee was called to the Brunei Bar in 2015. Ching Yee’s work includes corporate work including financial securities, numeric and accounting bias acquisition and corporate regulation. Ching Yee’s clientele served includes large Multinational Corporations as well as private funds. Ching Yee is fluent in English and Malay and speaks Mandarin.
