Transactions/Cases Handled: 

 

Ms. Arnaldo-Oracion has extensive litigation experience, having successfully handled a wide range of cases involving different fields of law, with particular focus on construction arbitration, land titles and insurance issues. She has advised and assisted clients in connection with the litigation of contract, intra-corporate and other commercial disputes, and actively handles administrative and criminal cases for many of the Firm’s clients. Ms. Arnaldo-Oracion also serves as a member of the Board of Directors and/or Corporate Secretary for several institutional clients and in such capacity, assists and advises clients on managing risks so as to avoid unnecessary litigation.

 

Education/Academic Attainments: 

 

Ms. Arnaldo-Oracion obtained her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of the Philippines. She obtained her Master of Laws degree from the University of Cambridge in 1984.  Prior to taking her Masters in early 1983, she was a visiting lawyer trainee at Ince & Co in London. Upon completion of her Master of Laws degree, she then trained briefly with the legal department of Steamship Mutual (a P&I Club) and with Robert Bradford’s (Insurance Brokers) and Stevens Elmslie & Co. (Average Adjusters).  

 

Professional Membership & Affiliations: 

 

Ms. Arnaldo-Oracion is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Philippine Bar Association and the International Bar Association. She is also involved with the Association of Insurers and Reinsurers of Developing Countries (AIRDC) and has on occasion been tapped by the Philippine Insurance Commission as a resource person regarding policy on certain issues relevant to the insurance industry. In this connection, she represented then Insurance Commissioner Eduardo Malinis at the AIRDC conference in Havana, Cuba in 1996 and served as a panelist at the Insurance Congress of Developing Countries in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2013.

 

Ms. Arnaldo-Oracion is also an active member of several civic organizations and is particularly involved in advocacies for women’s and children’s rights. To this end, she currently serves as President of the Zonta Club of Manila Foundation Inc., and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Philippines Women Lawyers’ Circle (U.P. WILOCI), both organizations being mainly focused on the empowerment of women and children. She is also on the Board of Trustees of the Tahanan Outreach Projects and Services, a charitable organization providing early learning and nursery education to underprivileged children.
