Appleby Jersey’s corporate team has advised the Asda Group on the acquisition of the majority of the EG Group’s UK operations, which recently completed.
Asda is expanding its share of the competitive convenience sector by acquiring the majority of the EG Group’s UK fuel, foodservice, grocery and merchandise business. The acquisition will create a group with significant combined revenues and which serves some tens of millions of customers every week.
Appleby corporate partner Andrew Weaver, supported by an Appleby team including Counsel Paul Worsnop, Associate Michael Davies and Paralegal Holly Tanguy, advised the Asda Group on all Jersey law aspects of the transaction, working closely with Kirkland & Ellis and Latham & Watkins.
