Appleby Jersey’s expert Data Protection team was pleased to contribute the Jersey chapter to OneTrust DataGuidance, an industry-leading privacy and data protection research platform.
The Appleby team – made up of Jersey Managing Partner James Gaudin, Counsel Gemma Palmer and Associate Michael Davies – was asked by OneTrust to prepare an overview of Jersey’s data protection legislation – in a move that recognises the Appleby team as experts and thought leaders in this field.
The Jersey Data Protection Overview provides a free* guide to Jersey’s data protection regime, including consideration of the Jersey legislation governing personal data protection, the scope of application of the Island’s data protection regime, the powers and role of Jersey’s Data Protection Authority and the legal bases and data protection principles in Jersey.
Mr Gaudin said: “It was an honour to be asked by OneTrust to contribute to OneTrust DataGuidance. OneTrust DataGuidance is seen as the go-to platform for data protection training, so being asked to prepare this Overview evidences Appleby’s expertise in this area. We are delighted that this note is accessible for free and hope that a wide audience can benefit and use this guide to develop and improve their own knowledge.”
The Jersey Data Protection Overview joins a number of other OneTrust DataGuidance notes, all prepared by leading law firms in jurisdictions across the world.
