Leading offshore law firm Appleby further expanded its Hong Kong office by welcoming Fanny Or and Andrea Ho. This marks the second and third hires for the Hong Kong office in less than a month.
Fanny specialises in handling a wide variety of matters in corporate finance, including initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, listed company compliance and other general corporate and commercial matters. Fanny will be joining the Hong Kong Corporate team and primarily working with Banking and Finance Partner Fiona Chan.
Andrea specialises in handling compliance issues, new business setups, immigration and company secretarial matters. Andrea will be supporting the growing Hong Kong Dispute Resolution team and Restructuring & Insolvency team.
Prior to joining Appleby, Fanny worked with a leading US law firm and Andrea worked with another offshore law firm in Hong Kong.
Both Fanny and Andrea are native in Cantonese, fluent in English and Mandarin. Andrea is also fluent in Japanese and she has worked closely with Japanese speakers on a variety of matters. Their language skills enable them to work closely with our wider global team and provide advice on Bermuda, BVI and Cayman Islands law matters in the Asia time zone.
David Bulley, Managing Partner of Hong Kong and Shanghai offices commented “Following the recent arrival of litigation specialist George Mallis and the launch of legal services from our Shanghai office in August, I am delighted to have Fanny and Andrea joining the Hong Kong team and adding their expertise to our Asia offering. With more hires joining over the coming months, I am excited to see our Asia team continue to grow to meet the increased demand from clients in Hong Kong and the PRC at a time when many of our competitors are reducing headcount.”
