International law firm Bird & Bird has acted as legal adviser to Meliva in connection with the company’s acquisition of Distriktsläkarna Kviberg, Distriktsläkarna Mölndal and Läkargruppen Mölndalsbro, three health centres and child health clinics in the Gothenburg area with a total of over 25,000 registered patients and approximately 85 employees.
Through this transaction, Meliva is strengthening its presence within primary care in the Västra Götaland region. The operations, which are currently run by Distriktsläkarna i Västra Götaland AB, comprise clinics in Kviberg, Mölndal and Mölndal town centre. The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approvals and approval from Region Västra Götaland.
Meliva already operates several health centres, rehabilitation services and occupational health services in the region and also plans to open a new health centre and rehabilitation clinic in Ytterby in autumn 2026.
