International law firm Bird & Bird advised Biomemory, a French deeptech pioneer in DNA data storage, on its €17 million Series A funding round, with new investors Crédit Mutuel Innovation, Blast.club, Bpifrance, Sorbonne Venture and Adnexus, and its existing shareholders.
Founded in 2021, this innovative deeptech spin-off from CNRS/Sorbonne University’s first objective is to produce DNA printers that can transform binary information into AGTC information (the four types of DNA nucleotide).
Two years after a €5 million seed round, Biomemory plans to use this new funding to expand its team by recruiting promising talent in molecular biology and engineering to accelerate product development and commercialisation.
The Bird & Bird team advising on the deal consisted of lead partner Félicien Bardsley and associate Céline Sol.
