International law firm Bird & Bird has advised Caverion Deutschland GmbH on two acquisitions: The acquisition of S&A Schaltanlagenbau GmbH, based in Garbsen, which closed on 31 March 2026; and the acquisition of Kees Klima- und Kältetechnik GmbH, based in northwestern Germany, with closing estimated at the end of May 2026.
Caverion stands for “Building Performance” and provides technical building services across all trades. The company offers technical solutions to continuously improve the performance of properties, ensuring optimal working and living conditions, low energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, and reliable operations. Caverion operates from 18 locations and employs more than 2,000 people across Germany. It is part of the Assemblin Caverion Group, a leading Northern European provider of technical building services with around 20,000 employees in nine countries and revenue of €3.8 billion.
S&A Schaltanlagenbau specialises in automation technology and switchgear construction, offering turnkey solutions for industrial companies, commercial properties and public facilities. Based in the greater Hannover area, the company generated annual revenue of approximately €6 million in 2025 and employs 45 people. The S&A Schaltanlagenbau brand will be retained and the company will operate as an independent branch within Caverion’s Nord-West region.
The former co-owner Ingo Ahrbecker will continue to manage the operational business as Managing Director of the GmbH.
Kees Klima- und Kältetechnik is a well-established company specialising in ventilation, cooling, process, measurement and automation technology, offering solutions for customers in northwestern Germany, with a particularly strong presence in the industrial sector. The company generated annual revenue of approximately €6.1 million in 2025 and employs around 40 people. Ulf Nickel and Jörg Ruhländer will remain as Managing Directors of Kees following the acquisition.
With these acquisitions, Caverion continues its inorganic growth strategy and further strengthens its market position in the fields of building automation, ventilation and cooling technology.
Caverion has been advised by the following Bird & Bird lawyers: Partner Stefan Münch, senior Counsel Michael Gaßner (lead) (both Corporate, Munich), partner Dr. Ralph Panzer, Counsel Dr. Maximilian Koch and senior associate Christoph Lutz (all Employment, Munich) and associate Leonie Bleilevens (Employment, Düsseldorf).
