Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised Billbee, a German provider of e-commerce management systems, on its acquisition of UK helpdesk software provider Replyco.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, marks Billbee’s first acquisition since being founded in 2015.
Billbee is a leading provider of a cloud-based SaaS solutions for multichannel e-commerce and is used by more than 18,000 online retailers to automate their processes. The business currently employs more than 45 people.
Replyco is a specialised e-commerce helpdesk platform that allows online retailers to channel their customer messages across platforms and marketplaces into one inbox.
Hill Dickinson corporate partner Jon Gillow, who, together with associate James McCarthy, led on the provision of legal advice to Billbee, said:
“We were delighted to advise Billbee on its acquisition of Replyco. The world of e-commerce is a rapidly advancing market in which geographical borders are less important than the ability to attract investment, continually develop the technology and grow via expansion or acquisition.
“The acquisition of Replyco gives Billbee access to the UK market and together the two businesses have gained additional resource and reach to facilitate the next step in their combined growth journey.”
As part of the transaction, the Hill Dickinson team worked alongside Billbee’s German legal advisers, Goerg, tax advisers, AHB Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater Arends Hofert Bergemann and corporate finance advisers, Carlsquare.
