Indonesia – SSEK Founding Partner To Moderate Panel At BANI International Arbitration Seminar.
SSEK Law Firm founding partner Ira A. Eddymurthy will moderate a panel on “Arbitration in the Recent Geopolitical Conditions” at the Indonesian National Board of Arbitration (Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia or BANI) International Arbitration Seminar on July 22, 2026, in Jakarta.

The seminar, themed “Commercial Arbitration in the Ever-Changing and Interconnected Geopolitics,” will examine how geopolitical developments are reshaping international commerce, natural resource governance, and cross-border dispute resolution.
The program will open with a welcome address by Dr. Anangga W. Roosdiono, Chairman of BANI, followed by a keynote address from Bapak Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
As political tensions, economic sanctions, shifting trade policies, and other geopolitical developments continue to affect international business, commercial arbitration remains a vital mechanism for resolving disputes arising from cross-border trade and investment. This seminar will explore the legal and commercial implications of these developments and the evolving role of arbitration in maintaining legal certainty in an increasingly complex global environment.
Topics will include:
- The impact of recent geopolitical developments on international business and commerce.
- Geopolitics and the governance of natural resources.
- Arbitration mechanisms in today’s geopolitical landscape.
Ira serves on BANI’s panel of arbitrators and regularly advises clients on complex domestic and international dispute resolution matters.
