Jakarta hosted the recently concluded Inter-Pacific Bar Association regional conference, held at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah and co-sponsored by SSEK Law Firm.
The conference, “Capitalizing on Indonesia’s Imperative Capitals: The New Capital City, Human Capital, and Investment Capital,” discussed the latest updates on Indonesia’s new Capital City of Nusantara (Ibu Kota Nusantara or “IKN”), upcoming investment incentives, and foreign employment policies.
It featured a host of big-name speakers, including keynote speeches from Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment; Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly, the Indonesian Minister of Law and Human Rights; and Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor.
The conference was opened by the President of the IPBA, Richard Briggs.
SSEK founding partner Ira A. Eddymurthy was part of a conference panel that discussed safeguarding the ease of investment in Indonesia and shared her extensive experience working with and assisting foreign investors in Indonesia, especially in terms of dispute resolution.
SSEK partner Stephen Igor Warokka moderated a separate panel on human capital, “A Labor Friendly Indonesia,” with a focus on labor-related facilities in IKN and Indonesia.
