International law firm Withersworldwide recently represented MUFG Bank, Ltd. and Crédit Agricole CIB on their provision of a loan facility to hyperscale data centre specialist, AirTrunk, that set several industry benchmarks.
The loan facility is the first data centre green loan in Japan and will be used to finance the development of Airtrunk’s newest hyperscale data centre in Tokyo.
Partners Gerald Fujii and Naoki Ueyama in Japan led the deal with support from Partner Steven Wheeler, Counsel Hiroyuki Sakazaki and Associate Takuto Sato.
AirTrunk’s latest data centre, named AirTrunk TOK2, will deliver 110+MW of capacity in Tokyo West, complementing the existing 300MW TOK1 campus that serves Tokyo East. TOK2 is the eighth data centre in AirTrunk’s APJ platform, and will be built across more than 4.6 hectares of land and powered by high-voltage substations.
