JunHe sincerely welcomes Ms. Cui Duan to the firm. Ms. Cui’s primary areas of practice include cross-border finance, acquisition finance, export credit, syndicated lending and debt restructuring. She is qualified to practise in the PRC and as a Solicitor of England and Wales, and brings over 19 years of distinguished experience in the banking and finance sector.
Prior to joining JunHe, Ms. Cui served as a partner at a leading international law firm, having built her career exclusively at top-tier international firms. She has maintained a consistent and dedicated focus on cross-border financial legal services throughout her practice, developing deep industry expertise and an extensive network of client relationships. Ms. Cui specialises in providing cross-border financing legal services to Chinese enterprises, with particular expertise in acquisition finance, syndicated lending, debt restructuring, and export credit financing supported by China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure). Her practice spans Southeast Asia, Latin America, Central Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe, covering key sectors including infrastructure, mining, energy and transportation. She has served as external standing legal counsel to major state-owned financial institutions, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank of China, China CITIC Bank and Bank of China. On the strength of her professional expertise and broad international perspective, Ms. Cui has been recognised as a “Rising Star Partner” in Banking and Finance by The Legal 500 for four consecutive years (2022–2025).
Throughout her career, Ms. Cui has led a series of landmark, market-defining transactions, including: advising on acquisition finance for a leading Chinese technology company’s acquisition of a major European retail group; leading significant cross-border project financings in Indonesia’s nickel-cobalt, lithium and energy sectors; and advising on an approximately US$2 billion freight railway rehabilitation project in Argentina. In complex matters spanning acquisition finance, sovereign debt restructuring, cross-border syndicated loans and export credits, she has consistently demonstrated sophisticated deal structuring capabilities and rigorous risk management.
Ms. Cui holds an EMBA from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, combining deep legal expertise with strong commercial acumen.
Ms. Cui’s addition to the firm will further strengthen JunHe’s capabilities in cross-border financing, export credit, project finance and debt restructuring. She brings a wealth of frontline industry experience and a sophisticated global perspective to JunHe’s cross-border finance practice, enhancing the team’s ability to deliver expert legal services across complex, multi-jurisdictional financing transactions.
