As of June 14, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers has introduced a procedure for selling surplus electricity generated from renewable sources by individuals and businesses. For those with renewable energy sources up to 20 kW, reporting to JSC Regional Electric Networks through the online platform is required.
Under the “Solar House” program, each kilowatt/hour of electricity generated by solar panels receives a subsidy of 1,000 soums from the State budget. The subsidies are transferred monthly through the Soliq mobile app to citizens’ bank cards. Moreover, the document has also approved regulations for selling up to 1 MW of surplus electricity with renewable energy sources. Both seller and buyer must install electricity meters complying with the ASKUE system.
